I have every right
still
i feel the faintness
of you entering
standing in the doorway
disillusioned as you are
with me
i cannot do enough
i cannot do what is needed to create
what once we almost had.
i have the protagonist to our story
little did we know he was the main character
he sleeps in on the bed, in the window sill
at times on the table - and faces the wall
his intent was simple - a walk in the great world
tethered to a man he adored - so he waits
and all the love i give - is not enough
he seeks freedom and naps in the sun
yet at times - he comes to me so faintly
standing in the doorway - waiting to enter
so softly
