the light blue
the specks of green
have come before - the reds and
even the white - the blinding white
of the page, of the sky, the sea
where does it all go: the absorption
one minute in class: the next a lecture
then reality - a practice really - a patience
an incomprehensible patience
each story on repeat: each emotion felt
there is no more pity in me. no empathy
i am at the age where i can watch with awe
pure raw awe that we are one moment here
then there: then soon nowhere: perhaps i did
die in colorado - like denver - one moment
in the sky, in the river staring up into mountains
if only life was so kind
an absorption of reality
