postulates: t+w

- and what
will life be without you
it’s best to not know
cuz hope and
i have been
friends for so
long it’s a
spin on a spin
a wave of an ocean

and the old adage:
a ship in the harbor
is safe, but that is not what ships are
for.* and us what are we for - we are
yet to know, we barely reemerged

before you left again to a state

of being i barely recognize but now
and again, like this morning i feel
our presence, the distortion, our
desperation of what we once had

in the early morning, late afternoons
and evening before sleep. i continue
to spin like a top before my mind collapses
into you: keeps, like the wave you are to return
